EZBOB blogger attends eBay launch in New York : eBay have announced changes to their web site which will be coming to the UK in 2013

London (PRWEB UK) 24 October 2012

At the launch of the new eBay in New York, Devin Wenig, eBay president said “Consumers want personal shopping experiences that are not intrusive but inspiring, experiences that don’t dictate but guide and assist, in ways that feel authentic and natural. That’s what eBay intends to deliver.”

Speaking about the new logo Wenig added “This is the new eBay… a more contemporary and consistent marketplace that meets the needs and expectations of consumers today and tomorrow”. EZBOB welcomes eBay’s updated look. “Change brings progress…buyers will easily adopt to these changes” stated Tomer Guriel, CEO of EZBOB.

The new eBay personalised experience will start right on the eBay home page. The old home page is replaced with a new page called “The Feed”. The eBay Feed showcases products personalised to the buyer and their particular interests.

eBay’s Feed is all about personal, curated experiences relevant for buyers and controlled by the consumer. Search results and recommendations are no longer enough. Consumers want personal shopping experiences that are not intrusive but inspiring and eBay want to make those moments of inspiration instantly shoppable regardless whether you’re on a mobile phone or a desktop computer, a tablet.

The changes to the eBay site which comming to the UK in 2013 aren’t about simply making the site look better but also about making the shopping experience more personalized and relevant. This will empower consumers to see the products they want and able to purchase them the moment they see them.

Instead of searching for items the new eBay will start to show items that a customer didn’t know he wanted or didn’t even know existed. This is great news for the traditional eBay seller. If you’re a seller of antiques and collectables, stamps and postcards, or memorabilia then eBay will start to show to buyer additional products he did not even know existed.

For sellers this is great news as it won’t affect the way that one sells on the site today. What eBay will do is connect a sellers store or unique inventory with consumers who want to buy them .
